Delivering on Blacktip

Process Group recently delivered a Gas Treatment Package for ENI Australia’s Blacktip project, located just over 200 km south-west of Darwin in the Northern Territory. The field development plan brings all well fluids from the offshore Blacktip field to the onshore processing facilities located near Wadeye.

The well fluids are processed at the Wadeye facility and provide sales-quality gas and condensate.
The Gas Treatment package consists of three separate systems. These are:
This removed moisture from the gas by direct contact with Lean Tri-ethylene Glycol (TEG) in the Contactor vessel.
  • Glycol Regeneration System:
The water saturated TEG is recycled and water is removed, with the lean glycol being recirculated back to the Gas Dehydration System.
This package cools the dehydrated gas via JT cooling in order to separate heavier hydrocarbons, resulting in a reduced hydrocarbon dew point of the gas, which renders the gas suitable for export via pipeline.
The complete process design, mechanical design and fabrication were carried out at Process Group’s Melbourne office & workshop facility.  The majority of assembly was also at the Melbourne works with 6-8 weeks of further assembly done at Darwin Wharf.
2 additional packages for the Blacktip onshore processing facility are under construction at Process Group’s Melbourne fabrication facility, including:
  • Two further Induced Gas Flotation Units (2 were supplied recently),
  • 2 Corrugated Plate Interceptor Units

Delivery of these last Water Treatment packages will bring the total number of packages for the Blacktip facility supplied by Process Group to seven.
